The Heart of a Mom
This is dedicated to all the moms and moms to be in the world.
I was on the phone to Eric's mom when this poem was inspired
I hope everyone enjoys it.
The Heart of a Mom Poem
A mom’s heart consists of so much love
It is always abundant.
As a mom your heart breaks when you
have to let them go.
You carried them for nine long months,
and was now all so real.
They were born, your perfect little one,
into a world of the unknown.
A world that you knew, could bring them
pain and you tears.
The tears that you cried and the pain that,
you carried on the inside.
It just broke your heart when they cried.
If they got hurt or someone hurt them.
You raised them the best that you could.
You sheltered them from life’s storms.
Life as you knew could be tough at times.
It was so hard to tell them no, or you can’t
have that little one.
They didn’t understand, you always tried, to
have a gentle hand.
Sometimes that was not the case or the plan.
You had to teach them right from wrong.
You taught them how to be strong.
You did your best now it is time to rest.
The heart of a mom, I will always be with you forever

Thanks Darlene I appreciate your comment. Yes this love is different. I raised my two boys alone after there Dad passed away.They are teenagers now. At the time they were 8 and 4 years old. It was a difficult time. Recently my 18 year old moved out and on his own and off to college. I cried then a poem was inspired it showed him my feelings. It is called My son is all grown up now. Its my heart to him. Thanks so much always.

I don't know how I would have survived as a young boy and teen without my mother's gentle hand and kind love. She kept the family together when it was falling to pieces.
This is a wonderful tribute poem to all mothers of the earth and I hope that Eric's mom was comforted by your words and also read this lovely poem. Bravo well done, I enjoyed this piece.

I try to be the best mom I can be to my two sons. I hope they will always remember that, since they lost their father when they were young. Your comment is always appreciated.

I've been thinking about my Mom lots lately. She passed away at the age of 58 -- way too young.
Thanks Sally I am sorry you lost your mom. She was very young. I know that it is hard for you, because you miss her so. I still have my mom, but I lost my late husband in 2001, from brain cancer. For me it is still hard, till this day. You miss them deeply. I am sure your mom watches over you still. Thanks for leaving a nice compliment. Havve a great day.

Great write, just today i was saying that i hoped my children appreciate me, a mother work is never done
and sometimes I am not being appreciate, I think it should take more that Valentine, Mother Day to paid back what mothes have done for us...... great hub.by the way.

It's much the same for dads...we do the best we can and wrap it up in love. Then we hope for the best.
